Top 10 things to do in Grand Bahama

Grand Bahama has Freeport and Lucaya at its centre and ninety miles of pine forest, creeks and beaches to the east. These ten things to do are ranked, from the national park's caves to a neighbourhood fish fry, with how to reach each.

Updated 22 October 2026 · By the BahamasBooking editorial team

Lucayan National Park cave and mangrove walk

Freeport and Lucaya hold the marketplace, the hotels and the nearest beaches. The island's best natural sites lie east along the south coast road, and West End is a drive the other way. A car or a driver for the day opens up most of this list; the snorkelling trips and the stingray outing are booked with local operators.

The ranking starts with the places that are unique to this island, the cave system and the tidal beach beside it, and moves through gardens, reefs and food. Tides matter for Gold Rock Beach and sea state for the reef trips, so each item says what to plan around.

Lucayan National Park cave and mangrove walk
