An Eleuthera road trip: the Queen's Highway from north to south
A north-to-south Eleuthera itinerary by rental car: Glass Window Bridge, the Queen's Baths, Governor's Harbour, Rock Sound and Lighthouse Beach, with driving notes.
Eleuthera rewards exploring rather than sightseeing: a 110-mile island with one road, dozens of beaches and a handful of natural wonders spread along it. Tours here mean guided drives, boat trips from the north end and water days from wherever you are staying. This page covers the experiences worth planning around.

Local guides run half-day and full-day drives that string together the Glass Window Bridge, the Queen's Baths tide pools, Gregory Town's pineapple country, Hatchet Bay cave and the beaches between. For visitors without a car, or with limited time, this is the most efficient way to see the north. Southern drives take in Rock Sound's Ocean Hole and the rough track to Lighthouse Beach at the island's tip.
From the docks near North Eleuthera airport, water taxis and tours cross to Harbour Island and its pink sand, and to Spanish Wells, the fishing community off the tip of the island. Boat tours from the north also visit the pigs on Meeks Patch, snorkel the Devil's Backbone reef and drop lines for the day. Current Cut, the channel between Eleuthera and Current Island, is a well-known drift snorkel and dive timed to the tide.
Surfer's Beach near Gregory Town catches winter swell for surfing and bodyboarding. Snorkelling is good straight off many bank-side beaches, and dive operators on Harbour Island cover the reefs and wrecks of the north. Bonefishing guides work the flats of the south around Rock Sound and Deep Creek. Kayak and paddleboard rentals are available at several settlements.

Yes. It is the island's most famous sight: a few metres of rock between the dark Atlantic and the pale bank. Park well back and stay off the bridge in heavy seas.
